EO Andhra Pradesh hosted for the first time the GSEA on 8th Jan 2021. GSEA is a global competition of university students operating revenue-generating businesses, the annual contest recognizes the most promising young entrepreneurs in the nation.
GSEA is a premier awards program for students who own or operate a business while attending college or university. Student entrepreneurs compete against peers in a series of local and national qualifying rounds to make their way to the global finals. Over the years, participating students have gone on to expand and build businesses, create thousands of jobs and generate millions in revenue. Upon review of the applications, selected students will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to present their business and entrepreneurial journey in front of a panel of entrepreneur judges.
In addition to being college or university students, participants also have to be primarily responsible for a business that has been in operation for no less than six consecutive months. Upon review of the applications, selected students will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to present their businesses and entrepreneurial journeys in front of a panel of entrepreneur judges.
The emerging champion from this round of the competition will proceed to the National Qualifiers and will be in the running to win cash prizes and a bouquet of donated business products and services including web services, PR, consulting and more.
The competition was hosted virtually on January 8th, 2021 and the student entrepreneurs were judged by 3 notable judges Mr. Natarajan Ranganathan - Head of Tata finance, Nara Brahmani – Executive Director Heritage foods, Mr. Jay Krishna – General Partner Mantra Capital.
The India Finals of the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) 2021 is one of the most esteemed global startup competitions focusing solely on student entrepreneurs. A total of 28 teams from 14 chapters of EO, India participated in this year’s India Finals. The winner of GSEA India 2021 will compete in the global finals of GSEA 2021 against competitors from 8 other countries. At the Global Finals, students will compete for a cash prize of US$25,000.

Ambula Gopi Raja, a student entrepreneur from the EO Andhra Pradesh chapter emerged as a winner. He was felicitated in a virtual award ceremony, hosted by EO Bhopal. Ambula also received a cash prize of Rs.1,00,000 and secured his place to compete in the global finals to be held in May 2021.
On winning the award, Ambula Gopi Raja said “I am so honoured to have won this prestigious competition. It has been great learning thus far and am grateful for the time invested by EO members in mentoring and nurturing me through the process, thus far. It will enable me to grow my business, and I look forward to learning all that I can. I wholeheartedly thank Entrepreneurs Organisation (EO) for this”.
7 May 2021, Washington, DC: In 2021, GSEA received over 1,200 applications from across the world and hosted over 100 competitions in 38 countries to determine the international finalists. The 38 most promising student entrepreneurs competed virtually at this year’s Global Finals from 4 – 6 May. Student entrepreneurs representing Ireland, Tanzania, Panama, Colombia, Mexico, and the United States America were the global finalists and ultimately battled for the top prize.
